Mend Optima Compact Battery Alarm

changing battery on my optima compact alarm panel?

I am trying to change the battery in the control panel,
but the alarm goes off when its connected but will not accept code to turn off or reset.
The keypad numbers bleep when pressed, so i assume this is not the problem.Is there a certain way to power the alarm back up.
If anyone has any advice it would be very much appreciated.

sounds like you have reset to factory setings try and connect the battery and then press 0123 AND THEN RESET and fit the cover IF THIS WORKS THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO REPROGRAM IT TO YOUR REQIREMENTS TO CHANGE THE CODE No press reset then press PROG then 0123 then 8 and put your new number in and all should be ok
