Mend Tecumseh 17.5 Engine Spark Plug Problem

Tecumseh Engine Problem?

I have a Tecumseh 17.5 hp engine on my riding lawn mower.The engine has started to race up and down while mowing.I have changed the spark plug,fuel filter,fuel and checked the carb.float and it still does it.Can you help?.Thanks
