Mend Tecumseh HV125 Start Seconds Petrol

How can I get my spectra 40 Tecumseh to run?

My spectra 40 will start, but only runs for a few seconds before cutting out. I've tried the usual things ie the petrol is getting through, the cables are working the moving parts,the air filter is clean & there's oil in the engine. I've had the plug out and it is showing wet, I tried heating the plug before putting it back in to no avail.

I had the same problem, which is how I came across your request when searching for an answer. Sounds like the carburettor and suggest you take a look on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVYYYpAviPA - different model but same principles apply to cleaning and servicing. Hope this helps.
