My Tecumseh BVS 143 Engine is spluttering and cutting out. How do I check and clean the carburettor?

You will have to remove the carburetor from the engine and using WD40 or similar product spray into all the holes being careful not to lose the pin holding the float in place. If the carb has a fuel release button on the bottom of the carb bowl. Try releasing some fuel and maybe water before any of the above, but put it together making sure its very clean.
