Mend Singer 600E Sewing Machine Bobbin

singer touch & sew Model 600E?

I can not get the needle to pickup the bobbin threat. I had a gear loosen and I tightened it, now the problem with the thread coming up from the bobbin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
