One ring on cramic hob not working. Can it be fixed?

One ring on my ceramic hob is not working. Can this be fixed or do I need a whole new hob?

The rings are available separately (usually - depends on the age and make) but the hob has to be removed from the housing, turned upside down and dismantled to access the element ring.
