Zanussi Ceramic hob ring not working?

Hi I have a Zanussi ZVM640 F Hob and the larger left hand ring is not working.
any thoughts , can it be replaced.

ring can be replaced but will require total strip down to gain access.once the hob has been removed from the work top it is reasonably straight forward to remove the glass from the lower metal frame
