Gilera Runner 50 Purejet starting problems please HELP!!?

Hi i have a 2004 gilera runner PJ 50 it was alll going good untill i went to my destination on the way it started making a funny sound when idleing then when i went i turned it off.

When i was leaving i tryed starting it but the electric start just kept on spining it does try start for like 2 seconds then electric start spins again.

Could it be starter motor or spark plug ???

please someone help thanks

gilera runner 2004 injection. i turned it off. then when i went to start it . it wont. theres a great spark . but wont fire up. plus its flooding real bad.

hi i have put a new gilera runner purejet engine in the bike nd it isnt starting. the bike is trying to start.

Try removing the the throttle body and underneath it where it bolts to the engine you will find the reed block,lift this out of the engine and hold it up to the light if you can see light through the reeds and the housing it needs either cleaning if its debri or replacement if its worn out. if open the engine looses the compression and it wont start at all. mine did this and i couldnt beleive that it could have stopped it. good look

my gilera runner pj 50, the variator seems have gone ut i ant sure, i took the casing of and now it just seems to strggle to moove the belt and it started when i was going along and it just cut out and would start again seemed like it wanted to start but didnt what could the promlem be?

if you have checked the spark and its ok i would remove the throttle body from where it bolts on to the engine and underneath that is the reed valve this will just slide out of the caseing. hold it up to the light and looking through it from the hollow side see if you can see any light shining through the reeds, if you can it will be this, if its just a peice of dirt holding it open clean it out and make a good seal. if its worn you will need a replacement.the bike should start.
this valve creates a seal when the piston is on its downward stroke which creates crankcase preasure this pressure is lost if the valve is worn out or stuck open.

Check splines not gone on variator fan pulley ..same just happened to my sons!!
