dishwasher not drying or getting hot?

whirlpool dishwasher is ot getting hot or not steaming at the end of cycle to dry . does this mean the thermostat is broken

Hello,

Check to see if the heating element (Inside the tub at the bottom) is working. This should get fairly hot.
