My 3.5 floppy drive does not reflect that there is a drive installed under My COMPUTER when i want to save or open a disk, i checked if maybe there is no power going to the drive but there is.
How do i fix this problem?
i have a windows Xp version.
if the light is permanently on ...on the floppy drive check the data cable and reverse it the end of data cable with the 2 closest plugs go to floppy drive other goes to mainboard also check power cable if this does not correct it take out and replace floppy drive all boards support floppy drives as some manufacturers of latest gen boards supply sata boot disks on 3.5 floppy hope this helps

Assuming that it do work at some time go into your BIOS settings and check them. Can't say how to do this as you done as you don't say what the PC is.
Alternatively if it is a very new PC and you are trying to attach a diskette drive to it there is a chance that the PC does not support diskette drives.
