my new home sewing machine seems to be out oif time?

the timing on my new home sewing machine is not right,my wife thought she would help me by cleaning & oiling it, she loosened some screws & now it won`t sew,can you please send me instructions on how to sewt the timing,I was a parachute rigger in the Navy and know how to sew & am formillier with the inner workings of sewing machines.
