few ways to see if it is the footcontrol if you are little bit technical,i normally open footcontrol and loosen one or both wires inside,put power back on(be very carefull as open wires will have power )and see if problem persist.like i said before,try and find shop that repair pc boards and ask for second opinion,these guys normally know what each component suppose to do
