why is my new key pad getting hot?

We have just fitted a new Optima Compact. We replaced the old Optima with a new one. The key pad gets warm after being on for a little while. It is an Optim Compact STAP8Z Gen4 Intruder Panel

The keypad is faulty. Try and get it replaced under warranty. In any event do not leave it powered up any longer. Just not worth the risk .
