How can I repressurise my Vokera Combi Boiler?

I have a Vokera excell 80sp combi boiler and the water pressure gauge has dropped into the red. Because of this it is not firing when the hot taps are turned on, and I have no hot water unless I have the heating on aswell.
The water coming into the flat has not changed noticably in pressure, and none of the other flats are having this problem. I have been advised by friends that combi boilers need to be repressurised every now and then and they turn a little dial thing on theirs. However, I cannot see how to do this on mine and there is nothing related in my users instructions manual. Would someone be able to help me please?

on the right hand side underneath the boiler unit you will see a lttle handle with arrows on it in three directions.as far as i can remember you have to push it towards the wall this will release water into the system.dont pressurise higher than 1 bar.this is of course if you dont have an external filling loop.

The pressure gauge on the boiler relates to the heating circuit, not the hot water circuit. Mine has the same problem - no hot water unless the boiler is actually firing on heating. However, I suspect the fault lies more with the pressure switch that detects hot water being drawn off.

Make sure you don't raise the pressure above 1. In normal use, the pressure may rise to about 2, 2.5 and this is OK. Any higher is not good.

The valve for raising the pressure on my 80SP is underneath the boiler on the right hand side and looks like a white tap head. In order to find it I had to remove the surround that had been put under the boiler for cosmetic reasons.

According to British Gas, these boilers are still fine to keep (even though they may not make them any more) but longer term you should think of changing over to a new boiler (i.e. in a few years).

Bleeding the radiators will make pressure drop, so try not to do it unless you have to.

look underneath the boiler and see if you can find a silver flexable pipe this may have one or 2 valves either end turn them on slowly until the pressure is about 1bar and then shut them off...
