Any ideas??, my washing machine will not spin when it reaches the spin or the tumble dry cycle. It washes OK and pumps the water out no problem, but just refusesd to go round fast!!!!thus leaving a load of clean but soaking wet washing. There only appears to be one drive motor for both wash and spin, so could part of the motor control the spin cycle and if so could the coil be burnt out. Anyone had any similar problems if so could you plese let me know how to rectify it
Same thing happened to my machine. repair man en route, saying it needed a new "coil" ???
Toxic smoke came up thru the barrel, yet the wiring seems fine.

Sounds to me like the motor carbon brushes need replacing

Hi John, not being funny here but have you actually seen the tub turn or are you just assuming that because the washing is wet that that part is working?
