Mend External Working Time

how can i know if there is a virus in my external hard disk?

i have an external hard disk that has plenty of movies in it. it was working very well the first time i bought it, i downloaded movies from few torrents online and installed them in it but since that time, wheni watch a movie it gets stuck every 30 minutes, so i have to repeat the movie again!!! does thi smean that it got a virus ..???
plz tell what to do..

No it probably isn't a virus. If you want to scan the drive for viruses though....just open your anti virus software and select the scan option....make sure you external drive is selected and then it will scan it for viruses. The sticking when you play a movie can be any number of minor problems. What RAM and CPU speed are you runing on?
