Mend Hoover HNL6166 Washing Softener

Hoover nextra HNL6166?

I have the above washer, its just over a year old. When I wash the softener does not go into the washing, it sits in the draw and fills with water, I have cleaned the draw and there is no blockage, Can this be repaired by my selves ?

hi check under the lid on top of the soap draw theres a leaver which controls where the water goes at different parts of the wash see if its loose or disconected
