Maytag Dishwasher Does Not Completely Fill With Water?

My Maytag dishwasher, Model No. DWC4910AAW, does not completley fill with water before it starts a cycle. Water enters slowly and only fills approximately 1/3 to 1/2 full. The machine goes through all the cycles, but because of the low water levels in all cycles dishes are not completely cleaned and detergent is not completely dissolved. What is the problem and what has to be repaired and/or replaced to make it work properly? Thank you.

I have the same problem with a Maytag Dishwasher.
1.) Make sure the valve (under the sink) that the water comes from is all the way "ON".
2.) Check and clean the filter screen, at the input of the Electric inlet valve to the dishwasher (it may be easer to just replace it).
3.) Make sure that their are no kinks in the water line going to the dishwasher.
4.) As water is filling your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. When the float reaches a predetermined level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Check your float assembly. Replace it if you need to. (maker sure the float is not shutting off the water at a level lower than it should.
Note: Be very carefull if you try to change the float level shutoff setting, DO NOT make it to high to the point that it can not shut off the water at all.

5.) this may make a small improvement: if your fill line is longer than 6 feet and is a small diameter line you can spend money and buy a lager diameter line, this will increase the flow rate some. I found a larger line in the appliance section of the harware store.

Final item:
Note: the fill level should be up-to the mid point of the heater element.
One of two basic things is/are the problem
The dishwasher is timing out durring (turning off the the fill valve before the dishwasher can completely fill with water (lack of water flow rate due to items 1, 2, 3).

The second thing is the float switch shuts off the water to early because the dishwasher is not level etc.
