Maytag WU202 Won't Start After Belt Install?

The motor ran before I installed the belt. Now it won't even power up.

i have changed the belt with a round belt , but when I turn on the d.washer the motor just hums. wont go into a wash cycle. what can I do to fix this?

Perhaps the tension is too tight as I found out recently... easy to do IF you substituted a v belt (cheap) for the round belt (expensive) or the motor / pulley alignment is slightly askew.

This is a pretty simple machine. If every thing worked before you changed the belt look into the following:
Most likely cause is either a bad receptacle, cable or most likely a bad plug. Make sure the electrical receptacle is live - plug something else into it to test. Remove the bottom cover and check for power at the junction box. If there's no power I'd change the plug.
