Mend Maytag Flash Dishwasher Flashing

What does it mean when the lights flash on my dishwasher?

Four lights are flashing on the control panel of my Maytag dishwasher. I don't really want to call a repairman if I can fix it myself

try disconnecting the power for a long time, perhaps an hour, and back on.
If lights are still blinking repeatedly, try tapping the RINSE button 5 times in quick succession. This will cycle all the display lights repeatedly. Hit the drain/off button 2 times to shut the machine off. Hit it one more time to turn it on.
If it is still blinking then you may have a bad board behind the display... maybe..
