Mend Craftsman 2002 Mower Primer Start

My craftsman mower is leaking gas out the primer pump?

I tried to start my father's 2002 craftsman self propelled mower that has been dormant for a couple of years. when i added gas, it ran out the primer pump. I changed the gasket on the back of the air cleaner ( the old one was damaged) but it continues to leak. Any ideas?

Hi,

I have the same problem. While I'm not 100% sure, I think it's the pin in the carb float not sealing correctly. Remove the bottom of the Carb, remove plastic float and pin is attached. Good luck
