Acer Notebooks - 4 short beep code means no power to main system. Remove the battery (may not be charging properly), try trouble shooting the adapter, other then that its a pretty simple fix.

4 beeps means either your memory has errors in the fist 64k or timmer 1 on your mother board is screwed.
If its your ram try switching over the 2 raw chips (if you have 2) or buy some more ram.
If its the timmer Game Over.

Four beeps is a POST (Power On Reset Error) meaning that the roor is occurring early on on the startup sequence. Most manufacturers used to use the IBM standard but some seem to have moved away from it in recent years. You could go to the Lenovo site www.lenov.com and download a an IBM PC manual to give you a hint or try going to the Acer web site and downloading a manual for the PC it ought to tell you what the four beeps mean.
