Mend Kenmore Series 80 Washer

Kenmore Series 80 washer won't agitate,spin, or drain?

My Kenmore Series 80 washer won't agitate, spin, or drain. It will fill and then makes a horrible grinding noise and smelled like burning rubber- belt problem?

Mine is grinding and wont work either, same symptoms as yours, though no burning smell, possibly because I shut it off immediately. ( I just called Sears repair at 1-800-366-7278 and they are coming out tomorrow morning (april 17).
They charge $65 for stepping in the door. I am going to ask them if it is going to involve a lot for repairs. If so, I would rather buy another. It has been a reliable brand up to this point. I bought mine in 2004 in February.
I will post again here as soon as I find out the problem.
