Mend Hoover Reverse Six Tumble Dryer Heater Fault

My Hoover Reverse Six heater not working?

Hoover reverse six tumble dryer - air filter light comes on and it no longer heats up. There is no blockage so I guess it might be a thermostat or element which is faulty. Does anyone know what might cause this light to come on.
