How can I free up locked Machine/needle?-motor and balance wheel are moving?

Hi David not too sure but sounds like you may have thread jammed in the spool.
Try taking the spool out of the compartment and check for loose threads and fluff these can stop the needle moving.
It could also be on the wheel at the side there is a bit you turn so that the needle doesn't bob up and down when filling the spool maybe that needs tightning.

Take the balance wheel and force it backwards only, it will free up, the worst you can do is break the needle.
