Mend Maytag MDB300 Dishwasher Repair

maytag 300 series goes into was but does not wash?

My dishwasher goes into the wash cycle because I can hear the water inside. but I think that the water jets are not working. Just wondering if buying a new one is easier then having a repair guy come out? I have read many articles about this dish washer not being very dependable? Several people have seemed to have the same problem and home depot or maytag will not help them out! Pretty bad when reputible companies don't stand behind their product anymore!
