I found the manual on the singerco.com website. The sewing machine is the white 1477. Go to website - search instructions- put in model # 1477. you get a free pdf download.

I also bought and lost the receipt for the white crofton machine from Aldi's. It locks up all the time and the foot part eats the fabric and ruins the material. I am taking mine to goodwill along with a note saying what it does and maybe someone else can fix it. I have waisted enough of my time with it.

Yikes. I bought this same sewing machine but haven't used it yet. From the looks of Aldi's reply, they are very responsive. I'll try using mine over the weekend.

Most likely, your machine is made by the White Sewing Machine Co. (www.whitesewing.com), now part of Husqvarna Viking. Don't know if your machine is the same one but the special purchase sewing machine that ALDI had in Oct. 2007 (advertised as 35 stitch functions) is really the White 3032. This model number is not listed under the whitesewing.com products category but it does show up at target.com (available online only). I found it originally by browsing through the machines at www.AceSewVac.com which carries a lot of different brands. If your machine is a White, you can locate a dealer or contact customer service through their web site. Or, you can trying googling white sewing machine to see if you can match another model or browse AceSewVac for a different brand. You can always try ALDI for help. Their customer service FAQs page at aldi.com says:

The machines carry a 2 year waranty. Take it back to Aldi's for replacement or instructions on how to get it repaired.

Just saw this machine on sale at Aldi's in Rochester and got all excited -due to the price mostly. but thought I'd check it out online first. Now I will not get it after reading all these comments. thank goodness for the computer!

Check your checkbook register or bank records--they might show your purchase record the day you bought the machine. I don't think anyone else sells Crofton label machines; good luck.

sorry i don't have a answer, but i am in the same predicament i bought the same machine in february and this is the first time i took it out of the box now the balance wheel won't lower the needle. did you find out who we should call? I lost my receipt so i can't take it back.

Most every household product sold by Aldi's carries a warranty of at least one year. If you still have the store reciept, (I save all of mine just for that reason) I would call or stop by the store and ask them what your alternatives would be for repair or getting your money back! Many of the Crofton brand items sold at Aldi's are made by third party mfg's (some in Europe, in China and some possibly in the US) and its next to impossible to find out anything on the web.
