Mend Jones 641 Machine Bought Work

Jones 641 electric sewing machine?

I bought this machine advertised as a good work horse ... motor whirrs and sews for a short time and stops stitching though motor still whirrs when pedalressed. Would love to get it up and running properly as the little bit of stitching was perfect

iff motor still runs but nothing else happens it could mean the belt is slipping,you did not say iff handwheel move freely or is it sticky?suggest get techno to give it good service or iff you up to it open panel and replace belt and also give it little oil where you can reach moving parts
