Mend Baxi 552 Boiler Heating Sludge

manual for baxi 552?

my mum 80 years young has no hot water. We think it is sludge in pipe from boiler to hot water tank but there is no vent.thinking of draining system after cleaner has been in 2 weeks- unscrewing pipes to tank and wriggling wire in to try to loosen sludge near tank. Anybody any better ideas. She cant afford a corgi plumber and wont let me pay!!

Hi Anne, if you have a fully pumped system you need to make sure the pump is working, also check that any zone /diverter valves are working correctly.
If the hot water is a gravity system you may have an airlock in the flow or return.
