Hi we recently had a power cut for 11 hours. I could hear a strange noise from the alarm box when no power and disconnected the battery. When power was restored I reconnected the battery and although we have a power light and the unit keypad responds when pressed we get no arming noise etc. I bought a new battery but appears no difference although I can see there is no "Day" light on now. Should I attempt a reset to factory settings?
Batteries age you know. After about 5 years it really should be replaced. In this state, after a power cut you old battery possible takes too much power to recharge and this will affect the alarm electronics. It may never recharge porperly.

All sorted. Disconnected Power and tried to connect battery again. Tamper alarm went off. I then managed to set the alarm as normal
