Mend Fiat Punto Active 1.2 2000 Car

Fiat Punto Active 1.2, 8 valve, 2000 reg. Airlocking?

this is a car I've just bought. It was missing and stalling and the heater wasn't working. A mechanic has bled it numerous time and while he was here the heater worked fine. The following day it stalled again & the heater isn't working.
He also cleaned dirt out of the engine management system.
Any advice on how to solve this and stop the stalling / get the heater to work properly would be most welcome!
