Mend Ariston A1535 Intermittent Cold Water

Ariston Margherita A1535 Washing Machine?

Intermittent fault related (I believe) to the incoming cold water supply. I don't think the water inlet valve functions all the time so the machine stalls when the program calls for more water. I've checked the water supply, the inlet filters at the tap end and machine end and ensured that the water tap is turned ON.
