how do i know if my starter is broken on 51plate fiat?

You will need to explain what your fault is doing. If you are just getting a click when trying to start and your battery is in good nick then the starter is probably at fault, if you are getting nothing when trying to start then it could be either battery,starter or connections, when trying to crank over if you are getting 12 volts down to the small wire on the starter then it is the starter probably at fault if your battery/connections are ok, good luck.
