rover 45 ixl diesel 51 plate clutch problem ?
hello again, i took the rover to nationwide autocentre yesturday they said there is no way that it felt normal they gave me invoice advising veh requires a new clutch master cylinder & slave cylinder.
I also went to kwik fit for 2nd opinion in case they needed it although they do not do clutch repairers the mechanic took one look at veh put the bonnet up & showed me a broken bracket which holds the clutch fluid (i think he called it the bulk head not sure) he smelt the fluid & said it was very old although this car was supposed to have been checked before leaving dealers & had regular services.
Like i said previously dealers have had veh for 1 week a rover specialist has supposed to have checked veh & found no problems.
I took it back to the dealer showed them what i had been told about bracket & showed them the invoice (although they said they didnt need it),
They have given me a hire car for 1 week because i was supposed to have gone on weeks holiday but i had to cancel part of it as i had no car to go in.
Although they do now to seem to be being fair with me i am still unsure. Is there anything they can to make it look like they've repaired the veh without fitting the parts required?
What can i look out for, apart from the obvious bracket that is was broken.
thanks for your help yesturday i just hope i'm not going to to be coned by this dealer. ..
