my nissan almera lost power while i was driving?

i was driving on the m1 yesterday at about 75mph and out of nowhere the revs dropped and the car lost all power,i had the aa look at it and their machine sed that it was the crank shaft position sensor,i have changed that and the car still wont start,just turns over?any clues?
