Mend Timing Belt Changed

transit timing belt?

Changed timing belt on my 2.5 non turbo transit and now won't start. How do I find tdc as the fitter thinks the flywheel may be the wrong one.

maybe an idea to try ad move pump timing ,or possibly send ump to a diesel specialist to be checked ,and make sure that its phasing is ok

Got her running but only by setting the pump 1/4 of a turn cclockwise from where it shold be according to the timing marks. The fitter reckons it's not the right pump. Slight misfire and definitely down on power so do we need to try a tooth either way?

was there any internal damage when the belt snapped ?? ..if the timing is spot on ,and internals are ok it may be the cam or crank sensor or wiring at fault..silly point ..there isn't an immobiliser issue ??

The belt snapped Norb so everything was out of sync. There are holes in each pulley to line everything up. We've done this and checked diesel is coming out the injectors but she won't fire at all.

if it was running ok before the belt swap, and that is all that was changed ,why would the flywheel be incorrect..?? Sorry I don't know where the timing marks are ,would like to think your mechanic would know,as you wouldn't remove a timing belt without setting the marks up first ,or at least marking the pulleys..To be honest if the timing is out a tooth or two it would at least run like a bag of worms ,more and you would probably cause internal damage .Are the cam / crank sensors ok
