Mend Janome 4035 Machine Switch Sewing

janome harmony 4035 reverse?

The machine doesn't go into reverse when the reverse switch is pressed. I have cleaned out any lint etc from under the sewing plate but that hasn't solved it - how do I take the machine apart?
