how can i fix my lg dvd recorder drt389h ?

my lg dvd recorder drt 389h will not power up and stays on standby. This happened after it was shut down unexpectedly whilst playing. now all i get is the greeting and no controls to allow me access to the player. Does anyone know the solution to my problem.
