abs warning light on dashboard iveco 7.5 tonne?

This used to happen to mine. If I turned it off and restarted it the light would go out. How old is it? The computerised ones post 2000 have sensitive sensors and if there is dust or dirt on the sensor the ABS light can come on. I was told I could wire brush it to remove the dirt, remove the bulb so the annoying light went out or live with it. Mine was a horsebox so wasnt used as much as it should have been, I am not a mechanic but this is what my commercial mechanic told me. Mine was checked, the brakes were fine but the ABS light did make me nervous!!
