How can i fix my Bendix BWD 1012?

It fills with water short agitate but will not enter wash cycle

see if it works ok on drain only, after that check the heating element for continuty and check the carbon brushes for wear, also observe the water level as a valve may be going open circuit before the machine is up to level, you will really need a meter to do the checks
