Computer problem with Fisher & Paykel GW611 Excellence?

Model is: GW611 Excellence

The washing machine has started doing some really weird stuff & I suspect it is the computer board, as apparently it is quite common for them to play up. It won't fill & just makes a sound like the motor going emptying the water and NO buttons work at all. Not even pressing the power button will stop it/turn it off! Only way to stop it is turn off at the wall. When you turn it back on sometimes it has reset & sometimes it just continues to do the same. If this is a common problem/sympton hopefully there might be a known solution to repair whatever actually goes on the board, as a new board costs $350 which is more than what the machine cost!
