My kitchen refrigerator model #ksry25cvm501 ice maker keeps freezing up ?

my refrigerator model # ksry25cvm501 ice maker keeps freezing up and will not dispense ice thru the door. Had the ice flap replace, didn't solve the problem. At one point the water leaked and ruined the wood flooring. Technician told me I wasn't properly maintaining my ice maker, need to use it every several hours, what kind of answer is that? Any help will be appreciated
