Candy Dishwasher CD1012 Not completeing cycle?

Our Candy Dishwasher CD1012 Not completing its cycle It does not wash good, it leaves dirty water in the bottom of the washing compartment. I have cleaned the filters topped up the salt, with no effect.
I have removed the machine from its compartment turned it upside down to access the motors Etc:- on the water intake there is a tub like shape half full of orange coloued granuals Is this a filter? or a trap for contaminated water. Anyone got a diagram or service engineers instructions book ? Cheers J M
