How Can I Fix My Quigg Steam Iron?

My Quigg steam iron remain on standby irrespective of turn the temperature knob it does not heat up. Sometime it does heat up. It kind of irregular in behaviour expect that most time it does not heat up. Thanks for your anticipate response.
