tv on standby?

my tx-w28r4dp tv went on standby mode and will not turn back on power is getting to set but if you turn it off and on it goes straight to standby mode is this fixable and at what cost?

Standby or protection mode? Your tv will not come on because of internal short.How many times does the power light blink? Count how many times it blinks and look up the Panasonic blinking code for crt tv's.I know that if it's a continuous flash it's the power regulator.
