problem with my hotpoint bf 162?

i have a problem with my hotpoint bf162 when i put it on a cycle it goes through for a while then stops and the soak cycle light flashes and it will go no further this is on all cycles so does not get to the hot water stage so i'm having to wash item's by hand please help
