Mend Hotpoint WMA66 Drum Machine

Drum banging about from side to side?

Hotpoint Ultima WMA66. when spinning the drum is banging from side to side and sounds like a machine gun. the machine is level and the bearing seems ok when turned. Is it possible that the springs holding the drum are worn and not strong enough to hold the drum when spinning on high spin.
