replace hydraulic seal on JD model 48 backhoe stabilizer?

I have a John Deere compact tractor with a JD model 48 backhoe. One of the stabilizers has a slight leak around the shaft. I have a replacement kit but I'm not sure how to go about it. Any pointers?
