Mend Kenmore Hot Touch Freezer

what can I do for hot to touch freezer sides?

The freezer is self defrosting Kenmore. It was leaking and sides were hot to touch. I noticed that water was frozen around drain, so I took everything out and put in coolers. Then I let freezer sit until thawed. I turned back on and when inside was cool I put food back in. I am concerned that the sides are still super hot to touch. Afaid it will burn up. What should I do?

My cool n cool Freezer DA68-00650A has a label on the side that says this heat on the sides is normal, because the heat pipe is fed around the sides to disperse the heat and this is normal, nothing to worry about :)
