clock?

Another suggestion is when setting the timer to record a programme manually (eg by not using video plus) put the time of the programm in as normal ,but put the date as 27/3/11.If the videos own clock is set at this date then assign the programme you want to tape as this date as well. Thanks also to John above for his explanation it is very helpful. My Philips VHS HQ as had this problem for a while.
All of this is very frustrating in this day and age.

I, and many others have the same problem .

It appears that the auto date signal is no longer being updated by the transmitter(s), and is defaulting to 27th March.

The only suggestion that I have seen is to turn the auto clock update OFF on your VCR (if your model allows it) and set the time and date manually. The problem with doing this is that if you subsequently switch the power to the VCR Off at any time, you will have to reset the time when you next switch on.

Information I have gleaned from the web is that the removal of the auto date signal is permanent.
